Title: Slot allocation
Post by: siTe on April 05, 2004, 02:06:56 AM
Small question, what does slot allocation do?
Is there a way to limit the amount of uploads, they really seem to drag my server's response times out.

hey

slot allocation is the nr of person who download from you at the same time.
to limit your upload there is in amule prefs an option Bandwith "upload limit" that option should limit down your upload. as default its set to 0 which is max upload of the line capacities "upload limit" you can set at the left of this tab.

hope that helps

This confuses me, I have upload limit set to 25 KB, this works. However my slot allocation is set to two, still 10 or more people constantly download from me, and I don't really want this.

slot alloc means upload speed / client .. if your up limit is 25 and u want only 3 clients in your queue, set the slot allocation to ~8

You're the best! However, might I recommend adding tooltips for this kind of stuff?
