aMule version 2.00-RC1 keeps crashing (I need to manually kill the task) or simply disappearing (the task simply vanishes) after a hour or two. I run my Mandrake 9.2 on a really old piece of hardware (a 400Mhz Intel Celeron, with 256mb of RAM). So, fearing that my hardware was the cause of the problem, I tried to tweak the max. connections per 5 sec parameter down to the minimum possible (5), and also to lower max connections a bit. However, nothing changed.
It's my fault, or it's a bug?
Since I'm new of Linux, I've no clue on where I could get a backtrace to send to you to help me analyze the problem.
Thanks,
Discoboy

hey
rc1 is sort of an "unstable" client ;) if you want it REALLY stable use 1.2.6 or wait for rc2 within the next days :)
there well be lots of bugs fixed

RC2 is out. Try it and report it. Take a look at the HowTo at the backtraces forum. Please post at the correct forum ;-) This post should be at en_bugs or at backtraces, but definitly not here :-P
Greetings!

Program just disappear so I lunch it from a shell and got this 'backtrace'
Like said Jakob I wanted to downgrade and I don't have crashes anymore BUT 1.2.6 keeps DL corrupted parts so it's useless.
I wonder if there is no patch for 1.2.6 to accept parts from 2.0.0rc2 because everytime I switch from a version to an other it re-hash files but it seams to work only to 2.0.0rc2 from 1.2.6 because it looks like the 1.2.6 DL correctly only files that were asked under 1.2.6 and not 2.0.0rc2
If I'm not (for sure U say YES!) feel free to ask.

Well, all effords are focused on v2 right now. So no such transitional patch I know of ;-)
Just keep up to v2-rcX... and tell us your opinion and problems.
Greetings.

v2.0 is just great BUT it keeps crashing. I just hope that final is not gonna do it.
I'm back to 1.2.6 right now and I hope it doesn't DL corrupted parts...
Thanx by the way I won't critisize because I know what a shit is debugging.
People that are not happy with your stuff should try to make their own and we'll see.
