Title: Re: aMule Remote GUI
Post by: harlock59 on October 22, 2008, 03:47:54 PM
Hi,

i'd like to know if it's possible to remotely control the aMule.app running under Mac OS X Leopard from an aMuleGUI.exe on Vista ?

in fact, the internet connection on the Vista is a bit weird, it is a 3rd generation mobile connection through a proxy. and on this connection, i can only get through the ports 80 and 443. And the only Web browser i can use is Firefox (if there are others that could modify their useragent and be set to pass thru a specified proxy, they would also work).

i hope it's not too complicated for aMule....

That should be possible.

AFAIK aMuleGUI can be set to use a proxy, but you cannot make it disguise itself as Firefox. (That would also require that it speaks HTTP, which is not true.) You'd better set up amuleweb on the Mac, and connect to it with Firefox from Vista.
