We are happy to announce the release of aMule 2.2.3 - The "Late Christmas present" version
(I bet you would have been surprised if we weren't late...)
This is a stable release which features mainly bug fixes and improvements upon the 2.2.x series of aMule.
Please see the Changelog (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Changelog_2.2.3) for a list of all changes.
Grab the sources or official packages at the download page (http://www.amule.org/files/files.php?cat=42) or check the forum (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?board=69.0) for user contributed packages.
You can get the sources also via ed2k://|file|aMule-2.2.3.tar.bz2|4666001|AEBAAA8DB74E07BB33016FE4C1C00E10|/

Congrats to everyone involved in the release.
And i take this chance to ask (not to demmand) when (or if) the download of deb packages via apt (deb http://www.vollstreckernet.de/debian/ testing amule wx) will be availabe soon (or ever again).
Cheers!!

As always, a big thanks to the devs and everyone else involved in getting this release out the door.

RPM for Mandriva 2008.1 here (http://oldfrog.free.fr/linux//aMule/RPMs%20pour%20aMule/aMule-2.2.3-mdv81.i586.rpm).
Spec file if you want to build your own rpm is here (http://oldfrog.free.fr/linux//aMule/RPMs%20pour%20aMule/aMule223.spec), usefull to create it for other architectures.
You'll need the following RPMs :
wx-gtk2-unicode-2.8-9.i586.rpm (http://oldfrog.free.fr/linux//aMule/RPMs%20pour%20aMule/wx-gtk2-unicode-2.8-9.i586.rpm),
wx-i18n-2.8-9.i586.rpm (http://oldfrog.free.fr/linux//aMule/RPMs%20pour%20aMule/wx-i18n-2.8-9.i586.rpm),
libupnp0-1.6.6-1mdv2008.1.i586.rpm (http://oldfrog.free.fr/linux//aMule/RPMs%20pour%20aMule/libupnp0-1.6.6-1mdv2008.1.i586.rpm)
as they are needed and not part of the current repositories.
They should work wirth 2009.0 too. Not tested as I'm comfortable with 2008.1.
[Update]
Sorry, I was in hurry this morning, so my best (belated) thanks to the dev teams for the good work ! You rock !

(I bet you would have been surprised if we weren't late...)
Actually, I thought you had switched from Soon to SoonTM ;D. But It wasn't the case .
It's probably related to the fact that it has no code from me, it hasn't been released by me and all I had to do was authorize it :D
-
wow,try it.great. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
i am surprised to receive an E-mail tell me that amule2.2.3 released.

Hmmm...very evil filesize, as it has always been the case with aMule?

Downloading, of course!

Thank you very much to all and Merry Christmas!

Great job ! Congrats to everyone involved in this new release.
And i take this chance to ask (not to demmand) when (or if) the download of deb packages via apt (deb http://www.vollstreckernet.de/debian/ testing amule wx) will be availabe soon (or ever again).
This question is also very interesting to me and it would be great to have a regular source for .deb-packages, again.

Jep, testing is updated for 2.2.3 right now. stable is building. The scripts for the svn-builds get redesigned including some stuff like website and so. I'm sorry to tell you all, that this is bigger than expected, but I'll launch it asap. You'll get the needed info in the threads for the distro-specific pkg's when the time comes. Maybe there'll be a partial launch this year.

Good news - thanks Vollstrecker - but as I try to update aMule via apt-get it says
OK http://www.vollstreckernet.de testing/amule Packages
but doesn´t find new packages - do I have to change some adress or stuff?

how to use the package? ??? ???,where did I should put it into?
-
Read the matching thread. Stable releases are in amule-stable, not in amule.
-
Thank you for your great job!
Have a happy 2009!

Hello, is someone can compile the 2.2.3 for Mac OS X please ?
I can't do that, sorry, thanks,
Ju.
-
Gtoso is already working on this. He encountered some problems with GeoIP (http://www.amule.org/amule/index.php?topic=16371.0), but I'm sure it will be available soon.
-
Soon, very soon.

Thank you, beautiful new buttons !

All my problems were fixed in 2.2.3, no crashes, the webserver works and there are no more warnings noise. This is awesome, rather surprising and frankly unsettling. Something very bad must be about to happen to my disks or my dog.
Thanks for the great release.

I adjusted my scripts. Testing Repo could work now. I started everything, if it works: You should be able to update while the night is passing, if not: I've got to go now (that's the reason for the smoke test) and come back 06.04.09. Then I'll fix it. The repo for stable is stalled till then, because it wouldn't work when testing becomes stable (at least I guess so).
Have fun, see you in April.
