I don't think the backtrace will be of much help, but at least you'll know that something isn't working as expected. Amuled had been running for 3 days with no problems, but tonight crashed.
The machine is an old pentium mmx and runs gentoo and a 2.6.21 kernel.
It crashed past 2:00am so I don't know what was exactly doing at the moment.
It was running inside screen, so these are the only text lines that I can read:
2009-01-04 02:15:26: Finished downloading: Somefile.somextension

A fatal error has occurred and aMule has crashed.
Please assist us in fixing this problem by posting the backtrace below in our
'aMule Crashes' forum and include as much information as possible regarding the
circumstances of this crash. The forum is located here:

If possible, please try to generate a real backtrace of this crash:

If it keeps crashing, I'll compile it with debug on and I'll try to generate a real backtrace.
By the way, version 2.2.2 never crashed on me.

You're right, it isn't. :(
Current version is: aMuled 2.2.3 using v2.8.7
One thing I notice: wxWidgets port name is missing. I assume you're using wxGTK2. However, it's strange. Might be worth a try using the latest stable wxWidgets version, 2.8.9.

Last version of wxGTK just installed, still it shows no name (might be a gentoo thing?). I'll post again if it crashes:
amuled: OnInit - starting timer

Initialising aMuled 2.2.3 using v2.8.9
Checking if there is an instance already running...
No other instances are running.
