Title: Amule problems in Mac - the program won't start.
Post by: tomeu on January 07, 2009, 11:57:24 AM
Hello, pals,

thank you for you great work. I've learned a lot from this forum already, but I now have a problem that I can't solve by myself nor have I found solution in any place. Let's see if you can help me, please!

A few weeks before I the amule started having a strange way of working, being so slow and repeatedly working on lowID, etc. But one day the program simply didn't start. I erased it from the machine (an Imac with Tiger) the better I knew (I'm a new user in Mac), and re-installed it. The problem was the same.

I have download every version I found, and the result is the same: the program simply stays closed.

Can anyone help me in this?

Thank you very much!

Thank you! I hadn't seen that one... -however my problem doesn't seem to be exactly the same. I've started my aMule application in Termina, and these are the results:

Quote
Checking if there is an instance already running...
There is an instance of aMule already running
Raising current running instance.
ordenador-de-my-name:~ myname$

That does not make sense for me. Any suggestion?

Thank you again!

Now if we would only output the name of the file...

Please delete the file "~/Library/Application Support/aMule/muleLock", where ~ is your user directory, I think it's something like /User/name/.

You rock!

The problem is solved now. I just couldn't find the muleLock file before, because I didn't know where to search it (my computer is in spanish, so I thought I had to translate, but it seems to be the same ubication, only it's "usuario" instead of "user").

Thank you very very much!
