Title: Feature Requests for aMule v2.3.0
Post by: tekwyzrd on January 19, 2009, 09:34:11 PM

There are a few features I think would be very helpful. First, the return of aMule's ability to save the position of the horizontal divider. It's a bit annoying to have to re-adjust the position every time it is started. Second, it would be nice to have the option of  having aMule load with a user selected  tab displayed. Third, since we now have the ability to sort by part number (a feature I had been hoping for) it would be nice if the part number column width was retained as is the case for the other columns. The default width cuts off portions of part numbers and isn't wide enough for the sort indicator.

Minor annoyances I know but sometimes  it's the little things people notice.

Should work. Sometimes doesn't, though.

That's a real feature request, will see.

Same as for the first one: should work as long as you don't switch between 2.2.x and SVN version.

But they really don't. So after I finish my work on related issues, I recommend you take a look at those gonosz ;)

Works in certain ranges. It's an insane sanity check.  :D

Hasn't worked for months here. Even the recent builds (v2.2.3 and svn 9383-9388) always start with the horizontal divider splitting the panes 50/50.

It depends on the window size. Big (high) windows make a bigger minimum height for the uploads than smaller ones.

OK, I see what's going on. I'll use transfers as the example. On my display set at 1280x1024 when maximized the uploads allows a size of more than 50% but not less than 50%. In other words, when maximized I can move the divider up from the default center position and it will be saved for the next session but if the horizontal divider is moved down on next start it returns to the default center position.

The really odd thing (to me anyway) is the position of the horizontal divider is retained no matter where I position it as long as the size is at least 25% less than maximized.

Fixed in 9401. Problem was a sanity check based on the default window size instead of the restored window size.

SVN 9401 built and installed. The divider behavior hasn't changed.

Exactly which divider is misbehaving? I fixed the one in the transfer window. Are there more?

That's the one I'm talking about. It still retains divider position if uploads pane is more than 50% but not if it's less than 50% (or if you prefer, at startup the divider is set to the default middle position if the downloads pane was  greater than 50% at exit)

I'll direct any further discussion of this to a "Divider bar position" thread in the en_Bugs section. I've veered too far from the original post's intent which was feature requests for the next major release.

Well, exactly that is working fine here with 9401. Are you really sure you haven't made a mistake with building/running?

Quite sure. Is it possible the revisions weren't included in the 9401 tarball?

No.
