Hi everybody
I live in China and use aMule on my Macbook in two differents places. One got a ADSL connexion and I got an High ID. The other one is a Cable Modem connexion (without routeur) and I always got a Low ID... ??? I've tried many differents ports (9000/9010 and 30000/30005)
I read on chinese BBS that the Cable company censured eDonkey P2P. But if I change ports, how the company could know it's a eDonkey connexion ? Or problem come from somewhere else ?
Thank you for your helps :)

Please enable "Use obfuscation for outgoing connections" in the security preferences tab!

not working, still low ID...

Maybe the cable company has good filters :(

Or maybe you're behind NAT.

Maybe like italian ISP FastWeb ::)

NAT ? ok, but what could I do, using an open port like 21 ?
or maybe a proxy ? is it possible to configure a proxy in aMule ?

hi!
i guess first you should test all neccessary ports for emule here: http://www.amule.org/testport.php
* 4661 TCP (outgoing): Port, on which a server listens for connection (defined by server) -> can not be changed
* 4662 TCP (outgoing and incoming): Client to client transfers.
* 4665 UDP (outgoing and incoming): Used for global server searches and global source queries. This is always Client TCP port + 3 -> can not be changed
* 4672 UDP (outgoing and incoming): Extended eMule protocol, Queue Rating, File Reask Ping, Kad. Kad will be 'firewalled' if NAT (Network Address Translation) remaps this port number.
if your provider blocks one of them or has an intelligent methode to identify usage of emule on various ports, you might get a low id.
if there is no misconfiguration and your provider blocks ports, you only could use a commercial proxy. As there are no in china at all , you could use http://perfect-privacy.com, ivacy.com, linkideo.com or surfonym.com for about 10 euro / month if it is worth the effort.
