Hello,
I am using amule version 2.2.6 in ubuntu 9.10 and I get Kad: connecting at the bottom right corner. How can I connect to the kad network?
Thank you.

You have to enable ED2K network once to bootstrap Kad, or download a nodes.dat . Once it has connected you can turn ED2K off again.
-
ED2k was enabled as well as kademlia, and in the kad tab there is this address
http://emule-inside.net/nodes.dat
Any other clues? Do I have to open any port for kad?

I have attached an image in case it can help to solve the issue.
-
Please click on the blue arrow left to "Nodes (0)" above the statistics graph.
-
I pressed it to download a new nodes.dat, but it failed. I attach the image.
What could be wrong?
-
Start some download (using ED2K network). When you have some sources click on "Bootstrap from known clients".
-
Unfortunately the address doesn't exist anymore. (HTTP 410 - Gone) Should bootstrapping as described by Stu Redman fail, please try http://download.tuxfamily.org/technosalad/utils/nodes.dat instead.

Seems like that adddress is not valid anymore. See nodes.dat addresses (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=11992.0) to find a working URL.
Ah, I see wuischke was faster ;)

It works now. I had a default installation. I think the default installation should be modified or else other people will have the same problem!
