One download was 100%, but after very very long time, it was still in progress of completing, so I closed aMule and manually renamed the .part and removed .part.met and .part.met.bak.
The problem is now every time I open aMule, the hard disk keep spinning in high speed, I try to remove aMule and re-install, but find no ways to solve this problem.
Thanks for help.

Im guessing that aMule keeps searching for that completed file
that isnt there (as it had not completed).
Installing a new version doesnt change the fact that this particular file is still there.
So, you can try to remove that file first.

I had removed that file, but problem persists.
There is one thing weird, if I change the location of temp to the default ~/.amule/temp, every thing will be normal, but if I change back to the /sda1/aMule/temp, the problem also comes back, why?

There may be something wrong with your sda1 drive,
which may have initially stopped that file from completing.

Harddiscs always spin at the same speed as long as they are switched on. ::)

Until the system spins it down to save energy when it's not used...
