When I load/open aMule, I get the following message in the aMule Log: "External connection disabled in config file." What does said message mean and what -if anything- should I do about it? Please advise. Thanks.

That means you won't be able to use tools talking to aMule on its EC (External Connect) interface, such as amulecmd, amuleweb, amulegui. If you don't need any of these, you don't have to do anything.
Actually, leaving it disabled in this case means some additional security -- ensures that noone can hack your aMule through EC.

Thank you for your lucid reply/explanation GonoszTopi! Is there an aMule Wiki page that explains these "tools" and gives instruction on their installation and use? Thanks.

amulecmd: http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/AMuleCMD
amuleweb: http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/Amuleweb
amulegui: http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/AMuleGUI and http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/FAQ_amulegui
A little research you should have done before asking ;)
There is currently only one application (that I know of) that uses EC and is developed separately from aMule: P2P-GUI (http://p2p-gui.sourceforge.net/)

Thank you again, GonoszTopi. Next time, I'll try and do my homework BEFORE consulting the "teacher". Regards.
