Title: aMule always start maximized
Post by: elcamilo on April 29, 2010, 11:07:01 AM
Hello.

I'm in a GNOME environment and I don't like this behaviour. How can I set
a decent aMule window size?

regards

You mean, it doesn't remember its last window size?
Do you maybe start it with a batch that sets the window size to some fixed value?

It doesn't remember its last window size, right!
There's no other program that is launched with aMule, if you intend this with 'batch', and also
it has this behaviour either under compiz that under metacity.

Which aMule version are you using? and have you tried another WM? (KDE, fluxbox, etc.)?

Regards.

Can you try the SVN version?

I would like, but Festor left us alone and I'm not able to compile.

It requires no magic.  ;)

It requires three commands to be executed from the directory that is created when you extract the tarball:

You may of course add some parameters like --enable-debug to the configure script (step 1).
Open the "configure" file in any text-editor and search for "Optional Features:" to find a list of the parameters you can add.

"./configure --help" should do the trick

And if all else fails, read the instructions (http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/HowTo_Compile_In_Ubuntu).  :)

Ok, I've compile latest SVN Revision 10177, and it
do NOT start maximized anymore.

(What I will need to do when another revision will be released? Do I have to
make all compile, make and makeinstall procedure by new again?)

You could copy the new revision into the same folder. This will spare yourself the compilation of things that were not changed.
But other than that: yes, you have to compile it again.

Ok, now I'm able to compile aMule, thanks. Perfect....no!
My aMule SVN do not upload, there's an empty upload queue...can you answer here or do I have to
open a new thread?

If you look close enough, you will notice that is NOT the upload queue.

Check http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=17845.0 for more info.

I solved this problem on archlinux by setting the line StartupMinimized=0 to StartupMinimized=1 I am attaching my amule.conf and if interested in someone, just change  your_name with the name of your home (are 3 lines to change).
