Title: Amule Setup
Post by: mitsuhoney on November 03, 2010, 04:45:11 AM
Hello there everyone! I am new here and I really need some one on one help!

I downloaded Amule and I honestly dont know how to set it up at all. I have a 13-inch Mac Book Pro but I do not know what it is that I need to do to set up it so that my files could be downloaded. I dont really understand some of the things that I need to do and attempted to follow the instructions on the Amule wiki but it didnt help me at all. Please somebody help me, I will greatly appreciate it.

How far did you get?

Not very far actually. :(

I manage to download it and have it installed. And I do have some files that are downloading at a very slow pace. But what I am confused with is what to do regarding the Preferences area, more specifically the Connection tab. Also, on the bottom of the Amule page it says this:

WARNING! You have received Low-ID! | eD2k: eMule Security | Kad: Firewalled

Not sure if that is relevant, but I was trying to figure out how to set this up with the instructions on the Wiki but I think I might need a dumbed down step-by-step version. :(

what to do regarding the Preferences area, more specifically the Connection tab.

On the FAQ page, you get all the answers you need, regarding the best settings.

Just click on one of the questions that you have as well, and go from there.

Also, on the bottom of the Amule page it says this:
WARNING! You have received Low-ID!

It explains why you are downloading at a very slow pace.
Here is how to get a high ID instead of the low ID that you are getting now:

Try to apply the info, and when you dont get it, come back here with a very specific question.

Thanks very much!

I think what I am having the most difficulty understanding is the Connection tab, I dont know what numbers to set it up to and what not.

You have to click on the "Commit" button right to the box.

I do. But I must be doing something wrong...

I copy and paste the link into the bar then hit Commit but the file I am trying to download does not appear on Downloads... :(

What happens?
a) nothing
b) the link is gone from the input field and nothing else
c) the link is gone and an error message appears in the status line (log window, log file)
