Title: .met auto backup
Post by: michelinok on December 05, 2010, 04:50:45 PM
Hi, it would be great if amule could do a backup of the .met file each time a file is added.
I've encoured the problem that is the machine running amule hang and/or cannot save the partfiles, sometimes the .met file is totally corrupted (zero bytes).

What do you think of this feature?  :D

The met files are already backed up.

Maybe i'm missing something...but i've lost 6 downloads (on 120) due to a crsh..and the met and met.bak become zero bytes...dunno why  :'(
ATM i'm backing up .met manually once a day

Sounds like a problem with your file system.

@Stu Redman, it was about "professional programmers" (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=17007.msg91213#msg91213), not "computer experts".

@michelinok, which filesystem and kernel version do you have? If you're using ext4, upgrade your kernel to at least 2.6.30. If you can't upgrade your kernel or it is already 2.6.30 or later and you still see this problem, you might want to try the "nodelalloc" mount option.
