Title: Can't connect to any server
Post by: Typhon on January 03, 2011, 08:50:40 AM
Greetings,

As of yesterday I can't connect to any ed2k server on my list. I get the following message:
Code: [Select]
2011-01-03 08:49:58: Connection attempt to eDonkeyServer No2 (212.63.206.35:4242) timed out.
2011-01-03 08:49:58: Failed to connect to all servers listed. Making another pass.
2011-01-03 08:49:58: No valid servers to which to connect found in server list
KAD connects and runs fine. My aMule uses Peerates.net server list.

Here are my other specs:
- aMule version: 2.6.6 (Ubuntu build)
- OS: Xubuntu 10.10
- IP Filter: MoBlock (Deluge torrent client runs OK when MoBlock is active)
- No router, just plain ethernet connection.

Works for me using http://gruk.org/server.met.gz
There are only two servers there though. Looks like ED2k is finally dying.
That's what we have Kad for.

Hmm... very strange. I stopped MoBlock, successfully connected to ed2k server, then started MoBlock again. Everything works OK now. Looks like MoBlock interfered with aMule ed2k server connection. I've never had this problem with Deluge torrent.

Another update:
In MoBlock I had a bunch of lists active. I reduced them to only 2 active lists (level 1, level 2). After this, MoBlock no longer interferes with aMule and it can connect again (even when MoBlock is running) to all servers.
