Title: Remote Gui same results
Post by: makinava on April 21, 2011, 09:56:43 PM
AMule remote gui connected with Synology DSM 3.1:

The search function (local/global/kad)only works the first time, then always returns the same results.

I reinstall the amule server on the synology and the first search works perfect but on the following search the server returns  exactly the same results that  the first time:

For example : If  i  search "altamira" the first time it returns "altamira" but then  i search "pacific" it returns "altamira" always.

Do anyone know the path where  server store  the string for search function ? Maybe is a problem of permission and it not posible to delete once it's created

Weird!

Please use the 2.3 release candidate, the remote gui has countless improvements.

Well, you do have to match the remote UI from 2.3.1 to the actual 2.3.1 core, not a previous core.

Thx. Do you mean I have to change the server side on the Synology Disk Station. I'm not brave enough to do it, I have 2 TByte sensible information in the box like "Marriage and baby born picture", and I don't want to die at then hands of a spanish wife!!

Each time I reset the server the search works again. But the fllowing times alway obtain the  same result.

Could you explain a little bit how is the process of sending the "search parameter" between remote UI and server. I found a named pipe on the box in /tmp folder named amule_request.info. Could be something related with.

The problem  started with a firmware update of synology ds210 where it included multiuser managment for amule server. Inside the box everithing works fine but with the ugly web interface.

thank you

Well, get a cheap 2TB USB drive and back up your pictures. No matter if you plan to do anything with aMule or not. A little electrical surge might be enough to kill off first your drive and then yourself in a sweet final spanish ecstasy.  ;)

So - you are saying your Synology Disk Station came with aMule installed? Or how did it get onto it in the first place?

aMule (official, released by us) doesn't create or use such thing.

Never heard of a working multiuser interface to aMule.

I guess you have a patched software with a custom interface. Complain to your software provider.

Indeed I have it a USB drive with weekly backup, a raid 1 configuration and  offline ups, thank you I realy like my neck. and othe parts of my anatomy ;)

Really I don't know how to replace the amule core . I installed a package from synology web  : "download station" with torrents and amule server togheter.

This is the config folder

ls /usr/syno/etc/amule

amule.conf
clients.met
cryptkey.dat
emfriends.met
ipfilter.dat
ipfilter_static.dat
key_index.dat
known.met
known2_64.met
load_index.dat
logfile
muleLock
nodes.dat
preferences.dat
preferencesKad.dat
server.met
shareddir.dat
src_index.dat
synouser_default_destination.conf

the last file is where the multiuser is config. I can loggin with diferente user and I see diferent download tasks. Not very usefull to me.

Can I Ignore this module and install by myself the server side wint 2.3.1 RC ?.  I'm  a basic unix user.

I did but they ignore me.  They provide remote cliente and a mozilla pluggins to work with torrents, but not for emule and I love "amule"

So. They are selling NAS with a modified version of aMule without disclosing the source. GPL violation.  >:(

I posted on their board (http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=170&t=35490&p=141336&hilit=amule#p141336), but they seem to review posts before publishing them (or maybe "GPL" triggered something here).  ::)

If i can help in anyway just tell me.

Meantime, where can I read about installing the amule 2.3.1 rc1 on NAS "a guide for begginers". I dont think I can compile the source code  in the NAS... or maybe yes?

I'm afraid this is not a task suitable for a beginner.  :(
