I have been following http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/Getting_Started (http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/Getting_Started) and Kad is ticked in preferences but it's stuck on 'connecting' bottom right of my screen, bootstrap from known clients doesn't seem to do anything, and trying to update returns the URL http://emule-inside.net/nodes.dat returned: 410 - Error (6)!.
How can I remedy this please?
Firewall off, aMule v2.2.6, ubuntu 10.10.
Also, while I'm here, is there anyway I can stop downloading trash pieces of audio etc, audio for instance that seems good because it's the right size, and has the most sources, anyway to tell if it's real before downloading?

Try http://download.tuxfamily.org/technosalad/utils/nodes.dat instead.
If you found downloads through search, check the remote filenames after finding some sources. This should tell you if it's the real thing or a fake.

I'm searching global, but don't see any option for remote file names, even right clicking on entries?
Also, is there anyway to display the bitrate of an audio file before downloading?

You have to start the downloads first, then you can see the remote file names.
And you can easily guesstimate the bit rate from the file size.
