Hi! I have aMule 2.2.6 on Ubuntu 10.04. aMule is installed from stamdard repos.
Today I realizied that aMule starts a lot of connections on my network, I suppose that is due to KAD or clients waiting for an upload, that is an example

My first answer is: why aMule is running with my user Id and all that connections are running with root user ID?
after that I tried to switch off aMule, but a lot of that connections was persistent, still sending and receiving after half an hour :o
so I switched off the eth0 card (the only one present on my pc, and I have no wifi connection), afgter 5 minutes the situation was like this:

Those connections was still alive and working, even with the network card switched off :o :o :o
I have a firewall working, and I tested it with different online ports scanner, the 64830 (my old port for aMule) was always closed.
I can't beklieve that: firewall working, aMule not working, network card switched off and those processes still working.
Can somebody tell me if this is normal and why?
thx a lot for your help.

Nobody can answer my questions?
At least tell me that what I asked is bullshit, but tell me something. I'm not polemic, I just wish to understand.

I tried it here on my Ubuntu Box for a short time, but I haven't lots of files shared, so I can't reproduce it.

This is more a linux question than an aMule question, hence why you probably will have to wait until someone actually feels like answering it, or ask it in a specific linux forum, probably for your distribution.
