Title: Failed to convert file "/home/mm/.aMule/ED2KLinks" to Unicode on ubuntu 11.10
Post by: mulehouston on February 06, 2012, 04:21:49 PM
I am running amule 2.2.6 on ubuntu 11.10, everything works great until I try to open a ed2k link from Opera with Asian character in it, amule returns "Failed to convert file "/home/mm/.aMule/ED2KLinks" to Unicode" error. However, on a link with no Asian charater in it, it works just fine.

I can manually find the link in the html source file and paste in amule and it will recognize it and take it. However, the asian characters still does not show correctly in the file name.

This is what a link with non-english character looks like in the html source file of the website

This is what's in the file /home/user/.amule/ed2k-link (while amule is not running.)

This is the file name while downloading or after download

I have tried to mess around with settings in Opera but suspect the problem is on amule side. Also just noticed 2.3.1 is released with some UTF-8 related bug fixes and I am wondering if that will help.

Thanks for any help in advance.

How about trying 2.3.1 instead of wondering ?
