hello, is it possible to compile amule without GUI ? i want to treat it just like a text daemon. And i want to access it thru web or something like that. I wasn't able to find anything like that in ./configure --help. I'm currently using mldonkey as a core ( compiled with --disable-gui ) and connecting to it from windows with special client or just thru http://www.
thanks in advance for your answer

No way, since aMule is a full block GUI and core (monolithic).
But, there's a walkaround useing Xvfb. Take a look at http://www.amule-project.net/amule/thread.php?threadid=1564
I hope that helps.
Greetings.

thanks!
i'm not sure did i understood this thread, but i think its possible to connect only from another Linux box... ( or maybe its the easiest way)
but i want to connect from windows :(
even if its possible to connect via web page, installing XFree, and bunch of libs only for this is not very good i'm afraid :(
i think i will wait for sharedaemon then :)
thanks again

You only need to instal XFree and "all theat bunch" in the server, that is, in the computer running aMule. The Windows client has no need to install any other stuff. If you install aMule WebServer, you'll be able to view your downloads's status from any browser on any computer... even on you're mobile phone.
Greetings.
