How much of a file has to be downloaded
before I can watch a preview ?

To get the 'Preview' menu item enabled the following conditions must all be met:
 - the file must be larger than 256K
 - the first 256K of the file must be completely downloaded
 - the file type (based on its extension) must be recognized as a video or audio type
