I keep getting this warning when configuring the code for make:
Which libraries should aMule use?
wxWidgets 2.4.2
GTK Not detected
WARNING!! Your wxWidgets copy has been linked against GTK2 and this will make aMule
be instable, use so much cpu and ram. You have been advised, don't report bugs so.
I have every GTK package I can think of installed. How can I find ou which package I'm missing?
Mandrake 10 Official.

Hi,
DONT USE wx from Mandrake, use the ones provided by amule site and install them.
Just use curl, curl-devel, gtk+, gtk+-devel from Mandrake. Desinstall all wx packages from Mandrake

Hmm, not sure I can safely do that, who knows what other programs are dependent on the Mandrake wx packages?
-
As u want, u r warned :) Problems will come :)
All Mdk people here (so am i) use wxGTK from amule with no pb

I'm writing a how-to for this, wait until tomorrow (I hope )and you will have the solution in the wiki.
-
If someone interessed, i ve a special MDK 10 libwxGTK rpm...

Excellent, I'll have a look through th readme then

I have posted the howto in the wiki but it doesn't show it in the main page, I'm afraid that I din't it well.
-
elui, you have to edit the main page also ;-)
I'm sorry I haven't checked the howto you PMed me. I'm _very_ busy right now. I'll check it tomorrow :-)
Thanx again, and greetings!
-
That's excellent elui, thanks! :) I'll try it when I get home, but first I have two questions (short ones, honest).
Step 4, my KDE menus are all missing; what's the terminal command to launch the RPM removal utility?
aMule doesn't feature in my urpmi list, though I have a complete set of sources configured via easy urpmi. Can someone give me the address of a site that has the aMule rpm so I can add it via urpmi.addmedia?
Cheers,
P

I can only hekp you on the step4 question: urpme
:-)
Greetings!

Hmm, not the best of starts, urpmi librypto gives
libcryptopp-progs
libcryptopp5
libcryptopp5-devel
libcryptopp5-static-devel
and urpmi libgd gives about 25 results.
Sorry, but I think it may be necessary to list some uprmi.addmedia sources for Mdk 10 users, or they won't get very far into the procedure. :(
Also there's no wxBase package with Mdk 10, just libwx_base2.4_0-2.4.1-2mdk
-
why don't u dl the one from our dl page ?
there is everything.. from amule over crypto to wxbase
greets

I don't see packages called libcrypto or libgd there. I may be looking at the wrong download page - is there another one besides http://www.amule.org/amule/download.php ?
Is libcryptopp5-5.1-2_MDK.i586.rpm the same as libcrypto?
The thing is the guide is a really good idea, but if newbies get stuck on step one it's a bit of a shame.

http://download.berlios.de/amule/libcryptopp5-5.1-2mdk.i586.rpm
http://download.berlios.de/amule/libcryptopp5-devel-5.1-2mdk.i586.rpm
http://download.berlios.de/amule/gd-2.0.22-1.i586.rpm
dl mirror -> http://www.amule.org/amule/info_db.php

OK, getting there :) I'm missing a libwx_base file to go with the wxBase RPM, because I had to install the old libwx_base rpm to be able to install wxBase from this site.
Same thing for the libwxgtk2.4.2-1 package.
Thanks a million for the help so far. :)
P.S. I followed the instructions carefully for adding the RPMS dir as a source and when I run urpmi I always get this:
medium "dirRPMS" uses an invalid list file:
mirror is probably not up-to-date, trying to use alternate method
-
libcryptopp is NOT libcrypto. libcrypto is ANOTHER lib the we don't use we use libcryptopp, a.k.a libcrypto++
-
Got it installed, though I think I still have a bad package, as it crashes every time with an exception error in /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 (seems it's a glibc file? current version is /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0)
