aMule crashes on my computer after upgrade from 10965 to 10983. How did you obtain the debugging output?
-
1. Start the process in a Terminal:
$ amule &
2. List what is written in the Journal: $ journalctl -S today
-
#3 0x000000000063f368 n/a (amule)
#4 0x000000000046be0b n/a (amule)
Well, this isn't much. To be honest, it's nothing useful. Is it possible to use a debug-enabled build for generating bug reports?
-
Is there a simple explanation about how to turn on the debug mode?
Or do i have to start amule just with simple (extra) parameter?
-
Okay, finally made it with the help of the Manjaro forum.
Had to attach it cause it has more than 20'000 characters...
-
aMule should be configured and compiled with the --enable-debug switch. Then the resulting binary should have enough information to show where it crashes.
-
I did what was mentioned in the Arch wiki and compiled aMule from scratch.
Have you looked inside the lengthy output of the crash?
Is this no valuable/helpfull output from the crash?
This *should* have worked... so please give me a hint what was going wrong...
Here the link for your info: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/how-to-debug-amule/16688 (https://forum.manjaro.org/t/how-to-debug-amule/16688)
Thanks in advance!
-
Another report, now complied with --enable-debug.
-
After deleting the complete ~/.aMule folder and using the self-complied version - no crash in 3 days!
-
I added a new crash report cause it failed today the first time since weeks.
Seems the kernel 4.11.1 has something to do with this.

Release 10983 gives us also headaches:

Seems i have the same problem again like the second post...
