Title: xMule / aMule fight ...
Post by: BigBob on November 19, 2003, 10:40:27 PM
Hi all,

I'm really tired of all this crap about xMule / aMule fight ...

Well, i don't think fighting with xMule was something that can help aMule project in any way, also i put here a poll to ask you if we need to leave the xMule / aMule fight thread on-line, i have already moved the thread from aMule new, since this forum is on aMule news related and also all posts in this forum goes in front of the Home Page ...

I say yes because users should know what's true.

I dunno if it's interesting to leave the fight...

the only thing I wanna is that an *mule port goes fine; amule for me seems to be the way. But i don't blame the works of the xmule projects, but if Kry said right, it's a shame for Un-thesis (and "his" project), we're not here to read changelog, but here for real change...

I think amule "team" aren't there for money or to be the hall of fame (ok, people like encouragement, and whe need to cheer them...). and i'll never say to anyone that he "MUST" do something for the project.

ok, even if amule crash sometime on my computers, i think it's a good project and i let it the time it need.

This is nothing related to aMule. So there is no need to make the post sticky. It should be kept as a normal topic, like any other one.

I don't know that xMule 1.7 was an fake... but i used 1.7.1 and it ran well...
At this time .... *look on the window* ... 10x faster than my aMule :(
But i think this fight is senseless. We have here Open Source. You don't have to fear that you loose your job and your money.. and there are enough fans for BOTH programs... I think we're all thinking Beings... and there's no sense in a War

err... my english sucks ... bad german Guy i am

Hey Zico, you're a little late to the party.  :)  xMule has been officially abandoned by its one remaining devloper, so aMule is all there is now.

I know I'm a bit late since the links don't work, but I'm nosey. What was this all about?

buah... looooooooooong stuff.
to sum up what that links said:
xMule version 1.7.1 was released with an amazing changelog (one of those with which you think: "hey, this app is A MUST".
but doing a diff between v1.7.0 and v1.7.1 reported only one or two lines had changed xD
so, it was a fake release.

but the fight comes from far before that issue... anyway, there's no more fight now ;-)

Greetings!

ROFL!
the CTRL+C and middle-click copy&pastes ambiguity played a bad joke with me ;-) (or maybe it was deltaHF hacking my clipboard... hmmmm)

The url is: http://www.amule-project.net/amule/thread.php?threadid=207&sid=

sorry ;-)
