Post by: IBM on June 05, 2004, 11:42:56 AM
Hello,

need some help to install amule on my web server machine.

The machine use the system SuSE 9.0 and i didnt have some of X-Systems installed (like KDE or Gnome). but i really do not need the systems on my server before.

I will use to make changes a terminal window over the port 22 SSH. the rest of the system i administrate over confixx.

But now, i like to install aMule on this system, and will control it over a webclient. May its postet on my machine.

Now i need help how to use....

My idea:

I will install amule without the wxGTKs

and switch the webclient on bevore i start.

May i must be connectet, over the IP of my machine with the selectet Port.

Please answer me if it works, bevore i beginn the INSTALL....

Hi!

I'm using amule on a dedicated server right now, and the better solution I found was to run a vnc server on the amule host, and then connect to the virtual desktop by internet.

Web server was not enought ready, and did not provide all the fonctionnalities while the vnc solution is just equivalent to a local amule!

hey IBM

you can't install amule without wxGTk packages....
in the wxGTK package are the libs for the GUI and the network code so it is NOT going to work without it....
