Hello,
because a lot of ppl still use the stable branch of aMule (1.2.x), we decided to release aMule 1.2.7 which fixes some 1.2.6 bugs (two very important ones) + has a lot of new functions.
note:
aMule-1.2.7 doesn't support secure ident, so backup your client.met file when u want to switch from aMule-2.0.0-rcX
aMule-1.2.7 works with wxWidgets (wxGTK/wxBase) 2.4.2 only
whats new?

Debian Woody Version here:
http://debian.thermoman.de/dists/woody/amule/
You have to fetch it manually (wget) and install it with dpkg -i because i made the mistake and put in the aMule 2.0.0rc3 so the 'older' version lower than 2.0.0rc3 can't be fetched with apt-get.
Sorry for this.

Gentoo ebuild
(submitted to gentoo bugzilla too)
EDIT: in portage now (thanks to Jon Hood for his quickness)
aMule 2.0.0rc3 is in portage too, so emerge with
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge =amule-1.2.7
-
use 2.0.0rc3 for the newest features and 1.2.x if you don't want amule to crash when you're downloading that big avi while out of town ;)

I want to know if it supports unicode.... :D

If I switch to 1.2.7 from 2.0.0rc3 do I lose my credits?

When finally does a RC4 for Linux appear?
Or can someone say me, where I get RPMs of the current CVS version?
Where can I get wxWindows 2.5 as RPM?
Thanks!
------
I use SuSE 9.1 with Kernel 2.6 (i386)
-
RC4 is out tomorrow.
-
Does RC4 come today still?
-
Today, tomorrow, next week... who knows. Just keep in mind that "tomorrow" means AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. So stay tuned minute-by-minute ;-)

Hi guys
I have saved my clients.met since I switched back to 1.2.7..
and now? :)
is there any use of it with 1.2.7 or do I have to keep it until 2.0 is stable?
Thank you
Moritz Italy

Keep it untill you use 2.0 or any other version that uses secure ident (e.g. newest cvs).
-
Keep them until you upgrade to any 2.0 realease.

lol, nich, you're quick! ;-)

hi!
i use amule stable (1.2.7) on gentoo.
i recently downloaded a .rar file with something like 250 chunks.
the last chunk recieved always failed the corruptioncheck.
it got downloaded again and again.
i killed amule and checked the .rar archive (the part file) with unrar t x.rar and it was fine.
(all checksums ok)
a second thing:
i think i erraticaly compiled amule against the 2.5.2 headers the first time.
and i fixed the issues with that. (using gcc 3.3.3)
however, i did not link it, and then compiled the patched sources as they were with 242.
(using gtk2). it runs well.
mostly trivial wxEvent -> wxCommandEvent changes, some missing includes etc.
if interested please reply and i post a patch.

Patches are _always_ interesting. Post in the "Patches" forum and explain what the target of the patch is (what it is meant for).
Thanx and greetings!

for FreeBSD user....update your port collection!
