hi everyone
let me say i read the faqs and the wiki (both the old and the new version) about setting up ed2k links
i have mosex (new version, works with mozilla 1.7) and i also did the about:config
it doesn't work. amule launches when i click on the link but it will not add the download
the one thing i didn't understand about the walkthroughs i read is the reference to a binarry named ed3k
i.e. type /usr/local/bin/ed2k in the textbox
what is that? if amule, why on earth did they rename it? else, where do i get it?
im using almost no windows at all now. before i would have started the downloads using emule but now i'm too lazy to reboot
amule 1.2.7 / mozilla 1.7 / slackware 10 / linux 2.6.7
please help

ed2k is an app that is installed with aMule and which starts downloadins in aMule. i.e.:
ed2k "ed2k://|file|aMule-1.2.8-1.i586-MDK_9.2-10.rpm|2295696|72609EE09AD3CBE61C0E758350962D11|/"
will have aMule downlading aMule 1.2.8
I haven't tested the about:config way, but the old mozex way did work. Try uninstalling Mozex and retying then the about:config way, it may conflict.
Greetings!

dude, thanks so much

your're wellcome ;-)
That sounds like removing MozEx did it, is it?
-
first i had both mozex and a:config
i noticed mozex works when i click on one link and a:c when i click a button do get several files at once
however, when both are working and i click a button to get, say, 5 files, only 3 or 4 are added
removing the ed2k reference from the mozex settings fixed that

Great! thanx a lot. I'm going to update wiki right now :-)
Greetigns!

Oh, well, I can see it already said "Remove mozex (if installed)" heh. Seems like you didn't follow the whole if it :P

lol, better
i was setting things to src/amule instead of src/ed2k
:)
