* Hapilly running aMule rc4 on a MDK-9.2
* Temp & Incoming directories on a FAT32 partition * with proper rights : vfat umask=002,gid=my_group
my question is :
Does anybody has advice about which filesystem would be the best for mainly aMule (& azureus yeah) usage ?
That's before i install aMule-rc5 (you big guys work amazingly good nowadays :D)
As far as i know there's ext3 (see that post (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=1744&sid=&hilight=ext3)), there's ReiserFS or the old'one ext2 (and maybe other i don't know)
Thanks 4 any tip !
* i made this arrangement when i was still surfing & p2p'ing with windoze --something i haven't done anymore for months, due to security issues + i've got server runningn under Tux :)
So i'd change the filesystem no that big partition sooner or later.

the post you referred to for the ext3 fs is not an aMule problem, but he had some badly configured system :-/
aMule works fine on almost any fs supported by the kernel. The most popular ones for sure, so don't worry. Any fs will do. If you encounter any problem, just report and will be fixed for next release :-)
Greetings!

yeah thaaanks Jacobo221, merki thepolish :)
i guess i'll convert the partition to ext3, cause its journalisation capabilities rock (after some crash) on every partition i put it.
Just hope that will make fragmentation a souvenir, and that it will help me to catch asian typo of asian files i like to DL with this great piece of p2p application you're developping !?
