Title: Why so slow
Post by: hpek on August 30, 2004, 06:36:51 PM
Dear all

I have just installed the latest amule for linux, and started some downloads - just to see!
It takes more than 10 hours for the fastes mp3 - what am I doing wrong?

What is the difference between amule and lmule ?

There are many differences between amule and lmule...the main one is that (AFAIK) lmule is no longer being maintained. Amule is, IMHO far advanced from lmule. I think you should just give it some time to get credits with the other clients, get high on the queues, and then you'll be happy with its speed.

Regards.

right
amule is a fork from xmule and that was a fork from lmule

so lmule is gone since a long long time.....
the whole ed2k network is working with a credit system so the longer and the more often you are online the btter and the faster your downloads will be
just wait and see ;)

btw the ed2k network is not meant for mp3 download the whole album instead ;))

hi together,

its a good question how long is long, my amule is running for 6 days now and it is installed since 3 weeks all in all i have given 53 gb upload and 4gb download..... not so much and my amule 1.28 is not running even faster.......

so i think it must be a config problem to get the amule running fast, the default config cant be the best settings for a good download, only for upload to many other clients

my old lmule was running much faster....... good old time.........

bye

hey
please do me a favor and update to rc5 for "speed" test...the network code of 1.2.8 is kind of from emule 0.27 or 0-28 so really old and might not communicate so well with all the new donkeys out there...
update to rc5 the network code thre is based on 0.42b and its a lot more faster ;)
and its just an rc because of Mac OS its rocking stable on linux...so dont worry about it ;)
