Title: amule kill connection for other soft

Hi, a friend  use aMule 2.00Rc5 and when he launch it, softs like gaim, kopete ... can't send messages it is like the connection was off for them but all work for aMule


who have an idea of what appen?  is this an aMule bug? a configuration pb?

A configuration problem AFAIK. Try limiting the up/down and max conn/5 secs

I am the friend who have pb with amule
I have a DSL connexion 2048/256
My ul setting is 25 kbits/s (for theoric max of 32)
Lu dl : 220 kbits/s (for 256 max)

I set max/5s to 10 (20 is default)

And i have the same pb

Play around with the sources and connections limits until it fits your needs (it depends not only on the kind of DSL you have but also on the ISP and other stuff, so don't ask what's best, just try ;-) )
If it's still not working correctly either a) you have TOO many downloads on queue or b) you have too much of your upload bandwidth being used by aMule, so limit the amount of Kb of upload.
There are no other ways to suffer your problem so, if it persists, it's something non-aMule related. sorry :-/

It could be that your ISP has a lot of queues for your uploads and this tends to slow a DSL connection down to a crawl.I use a script called wondershaper,which does some things to prevent this queing which is mainly limiting overall upload bandwitdh.This stopped amule and bitorrent from destroying my connection.Do a search for the script to download and read about what tools you will require...it needs some kernel modules and iproute 2 from memory.
