Hi there,
I just decided to check out what's been going on with the amule-port to OS X, thus I compiled rc5 with the help of the WIKI (libcrypto 2.5.1...? worked, updated the wiki).
I have to say: I'm impressed! A lot has improved.
After having downloaded a server.met manually (because the "invalid URL"-bug is still there), I was able to klick-a-di-klick without a crash. Even shareing a dir works now.
Unfortunately, after opening up my ports and restarting amule, the app crashes, but I guess, this will be fixed in rc6 :-)
Just in case, here's the output of the app crashing:
Initialising aMule
Userhash loaded: 97585293400EA17E69EB0303E8FD6F09
*** UDP socket at 4665
*** TCP socket at 4662
*** UDP socket at 4672
Serverlist loaded.

Loading temp files from /Users/xxx/.aMule/Temp/*.part.met.
Empty dir /Users/xxx/.aMule/Incoming/ shared
Sharing /Users/xxx/Movies//Jazz10.avi
Abort trap
Ah, and yes: I hope rc6 allows to resize the amule-settings-dialog to my resolution of 1024 x 768 without hiding the OK/Cancle buttons :-)

Now I really wanted to know it and downloaded a recent CVS-snapshot aMule-cvs-20040915.tar.bz2. No more crashes now with this version! And the config-dialog has shrinked to a reasonable size to be fully displayed with my iMac-resolution :-)
Unfortunately I got also a "External connections disabled in config file .eMule", and thus no connection to edonkey-servers :-(
Does anybody knows how to change that? I had an old .eMule from Linux copied once over to my mac, but after deleteing the file, the message still stays the same...
Looking forward to rc6!

The external connections has nothing to do with ed2k protocol, those are used only for amulecmd and amuleweb, to connect to amule.
BTW: I fixed the adding port manually bug, and the search start button bug right now on cvs :D

sssnake,
To understand the use of ExternalConnection, and how to configure it, read this:

Cheers!
