hmmm....I've got an error message when I run aMule, after installing it from the Mandrake RPM....it installs both RPM's correctly (amule's one and another called libwxGTK2ud1-2.5-0.20031010.4mdk, which is automatically downloaded), but when I run aMule it doesn't run, and appears this error message:
amule: relocation error: amule: symbol _ZTI12wxEvtHandler, version WXU_2.5 not defined in file libwx_gtk2u_core-2.5.so.1 with link time reference
Any idea of how to fix it? thx ;)
P.D: I'm running Mandrake 10.1 community, with wxGTK 2.4.2

The rpm provided here is for Mandrake 10.0 ONLY :)
It will NOT work on 10.1 !!!

Hi, for me:
Fatal Error: Mismatch between the program and library build versions detected.
The library used 2.5.1 (no debug,ANSI,compiler with C++ ABI 102,wx containers,compatible with 2.4),
and your program used 2.5.1 (no debug,ANSI,compiler with C++ ABI 1002,wx containers,compatible with 2.4).
Aborted (core dumped)
(>> the only diff is "C++ ABI 102 <-> C++ ABI 1002", don't know what it is ...)
Is the problem with non-Unicode version of wx-gtk-2.5.1 ?
(I've intalled the non-Unicode ones, I think...)
Thanks.

Hi
All wx rpm must come from Mandrake 10.1, not from amule site or elsewhere
by typing wx-config --libs u should obtain:
-pthread -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lwx_gtk2_html-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_adv-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_core-2.5 -lwx_base_xml-2.5 -lwx_base_net-2.5 -lwx_base-2.5
installed packages are:
libwxgtk2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtk2.5_1-devel-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtkgl2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
wxGTK2.5-2.5.1-5mdk
be sure to have only that to avoid conflict

rpm are coming from Mandrake 10.1
wx-config gives :
-pthread -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lwx_gtk2_html-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_adv-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_core-2.5 -lwx_base_xml-2.5 -lwx_base_net-2.5 -lwx_base-2.5
And installed packages are (since my last post I installed the wxgtk-devel and the wxgtkgl packages)
libwxgtk2.5_1-devel-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtk2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtkgl2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
wxGTK2.5-2.5.1-5mdk
And still crashing :(

I already did this when I previously installed the rpm. And the result is the same as now with the version I compiled.
When aMule starts without anything regarding config files, I can switch through the tabs. Once I try to load a server list, or even enter a server IP manually, it crashes. Maybe related to saving or reloading server.met ?

For people having pb with 10.1 rpm, i think i ve found the problem :)
do: ls /usr/lib/*curl*
if u have libcurl.so.3, DONT INSTALL THE RPM !!!
if u have libcurl.so.2, u can install it !
There is a problem with 10.1: seems that some people have so.3 and some (me !) so.2
I think it is because when u do an network update from 10.0 to 10.1, it is not updated. Can somebody wha have so.2 can confirm ?
I will rebuild a rpm tomorrow linked to so.3

billy_bob
since you build it from scratch, try something else
after building it go to the src dir and start your amule from there
./amule &
and see if that works...maybe the make install failed somehow, god knows...

if u have libcurl.so.2, u can install it !
There is a problem with 10.1: seems that some people have so.3 and some (me !) so.2
I have both installed, although I compiled using libcurl3 :
rpm -qa | grep curl
curl-7.12.1-1mdk
libcurl3-7.12.1-1mdk
libcurl3-devel-7.12.1-1mdk
libcurl2-7.11.2-2mdk
My libcurl.so is linked to libcurl.so.3
I tried changing the link to libcurl.so.2 instead, but the crash remained (with the rpm version, and the self-compiled one).

you need to uninstall libcurl3-devel-7.12.1-1mdk and install libcurl2-devel-7.11.2-2mdk
, then compile.
Edit: although using rpm version with libcurl.so linking to libcurl.so.2 should work.

Looking at Mandrake file trees, mdk10 has libcurl2 in its, but 10.1 has only libcurl3.
Therefore I removed my package with libcurl.so.2, and I'll wait for your package linked with libcurl3 to have further tests.

IMHO that was I thought too, that must be some kind of library malediction ?(

I tried this but when everything is installed, I have always : "aMule-2.0.0rc6-1mdk.i586 (libwx_gtk2u_html-2.5.so.1 is not satisfied)". I install :
- wx-base-2.5.1-1.i386.rpm (but it seems not to be the unicode one)
- wx-gtk2-unicode-2.5.1-1.i386.rpm
What else can I do ?
-
I suppose you only need
wxGTK2.5-2.5.0-0.cvs20030817.1mdk
libwxGTK2ud1-2.5-0.20031010.3mdk
I was playing with this release, everything OK I only miss some commands to see and set speed limits and to see current speed in amulecmd :(

Still have :
Unknown long option 'enable-amule-daemon'
Is the right formulation, something to do to enable it ?
Tx.
-
noope
its not an "option" for amule its a configure option,
type ./configure --help | grep daemon
and you will see....
use configure with --enable-amule-daemon
and amule will not only compile normal amule, it will also compile a binary amuled

I think it is because when u do an network update from 10.0 to 10.1, it is not updated. Can somebody wha have so.2 can confirm ?
I will rebuild a rpm tomorrow linked to so.3

hmmm....I've installed libcurl2-7.11.0 (the one who worked with aMule 2.0.0RC5...both normal package and devel), and uninstalled libcurl3-devel, but the server window of aMule continue being extremely unstable. I can now refresh the server list and even connect to a server, but aMule crashes as soon as I scroll down the server bar, and when I close aMule normally, I can't run it again (it crashes at startup..). Well, at least now I can continue downloading the files I was downloading with RC5.... :)
EDIT: The entire GUI is extremely unstable!!!....I've aMule running but I've fear of touching anything, because it crashes at the minimal modification.....

I'm creating a topic in the proper bug forum.

I've uninstalled all libcurl2 (normal and devel), reinstalled libcurl3 and libcurl3-devel, runned aMule, and it crashes again the same way it crashed with the previous package. Now I can't even connect to a server D: (BTW, before installing the second package aMule crashed without touching anything...)
Console log:
OOPS! - Seems like aMule crashed.
Version is: aMule 2.0.0rc6 using wxGTK2 v2.5.1

Hi Targaryen, Hi thepolish,
I've listed all the packages that contains the libraries used in the bug forum. Dunno if it will lead us to a solution to this problem or not...
Anyway may be we should continue this discussion in the bug forum before Kry gets mad with it ;-)

by typing wx-config --libs u should obtain:
-pthread -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lwx_gtk2_html-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_adv-2.5 -lwx_gtk2_core-2.5 -lwx_base_xml-2.5 -lwx_base_net-2.5 -lwx_base-2.5
installed packages are:
libwxgtk2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtk2.5_1-devel-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtkgl2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
wxGTK2.5-2.5.1-5mdk
be sure to have only that to avoid conflict
Well I'm running rc6 on Mdk-10.0.
After having uninstalled all aMule-rc5 related "wx" & "GTK", i installed aMule-rc6 + libwxGTK2ud1-2.5 (The_Polish > you may add the "1" after "libwxGTK2ud" in the first post, just to be clear).
Now aMule-rc6 runs fine with no :
# rpm -qa | grep wx
libwxGTK2ud1-2.5-0.20031010.3mdk
# wx-config --libs
-bash: wx-config: command not found
Are you sure all 4 packages are necessary to run aMule ?

2 points: wx packages for 10.1 and 10.0 are different:
- 10.0 use unicoded
- 10.1 use non unicoded (unicoded pakage is broken !!!)
so, for 10.0, u will need
libwxGTK2ud1-2.5-0.20031010.3mdk
for 10.1
libwxgtk2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
libwxgtkgl2.5_1-2.5.1-5mdk
wxGTK2.5-2.5.1-5mdk
But u r right, devel packages are optional to run, just needed to compile
Though, it is a convenient way to install all dependencies and avoid libraries mismatch

hmmm....I don't know if it's significant, but...when I installed Mandrake 10.1 community I installed it with Unicode support....maybe is it what is causing the problem? If yes, how can I deactivate it?
