I have just updated wxMac to version 2.5.3 and still the same locking problems.

Thanks for the report. I get no locks here, I wonder what's happening (am I special?)

G5 1.8 (iMac)
It's not just that it locks from time to time, It's blocked most of the time, in my case you could say that it's almost unusable.

If you need any more info or want me to test anything, just let me know
