Maybe this is a very newbie question .... but I've read a lot of doc here in the forum and in wiki site without success .. so don't blame me too much.
I've installed rc7 (but the same applies to rc6) on a SuSe 9.1 personal, and I was trying to start amule as a daemon.
Accordind to the info I found I should be able to issue a simple "amuled" on command line.
Unfortunately this is not working, meaning that no file named amuled is on my box.
I installed rc7 using rpm, and everything completed with no warning/errors.
Previously I was running rc5 without a glitch and rc7 is now working fine with GUI. The point is that it would be MUCH better for my old box to run amule without GUI.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance

hey
you have to use at least wxGTK 2.5.3 to use aMule-deamon
so if you are still using 2.4.2 you have to uninstalll your wxGTK rpms and compile wxGTK2.5.3 yourself. you only need wxGTK no wxBase is needed anymore.
2nd thing would be to download the source code and compile it aswell with
--enable-amule-daemon
I think that is the option to make sure use configure --help ;)
this should create a binary at the end amuled

I also would suggest to take CVS snapshot - 'cause some critical bugs has been fixed in daemon after rc7

Thanks guys for your suggestions.
I will try as soon as I can (spare time is not that much ...)

btw, here is a suse pack (wxgtk 2.5.3 and amule rc7 both as rpm).. just dl it, install wxgtk and compile then amule cvs.
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=19
will save you some time compiling wxGTK from scratch
cheers
