hello fellow mac users
2 weeks ago i finally took a big decision: i sold my pc and bought me a second-hand ibook. osx is way better then windows id say after 2 weeks now even though i kinda miss some things and programs. since 2 days ive had amule running now but for some reason i get a low id when connecting, can anyone help me solve this problem?
i run osx 10.3.5
ive installed it myself so its possible some firewall or something like it is still active/unconfigured.
my router isn't the problem, ive mapped my ports.
my internet is setup in the following way: dsl comes into the router, which is a dhcp server. after that the cable goes into the hub, after which i connected a airport express and finally there is my wireless ibook(g3 800)
if anyone has a clue what might be the problem: please go ahead :)

open the ed2k ports in the rouiter ;)
Greetings!

i did, they were actually still open from my time with emule on pc. the problem with the thing is i have to give up an internal ip adress
my router is 10.0.0.138
it gives out a range of 10.0.0.x ip's
my airport express received ip 10.0.0.1 and gives out a range of 10.0.1.x adresses
ive tried mapping the ports in airport express aswell but it doesn't seem to be working :(

heh, well, that's not aMule's fault ;)
Take a look at your router's config manual :P
I hope you have luck there!
Greetings

How many DHCP servers do you have ? Do you use double NAT ? - So you have to set port forwarding on both routers.
Run nmap from outside and see amule ports open. Use telnet and try to connect. If ports are open, and telnet succeed - it's amule fault; if not - it's all yours.

hmm yeah, it seems to be working just fine 8) except for fetching ed2k links or even when i add them in the downloads window at the bottom field
but its not that im constantly testing it, i just start it, add whatever download i want and minimize it
yeah i cant seem to get airport working without having it as a dhcp server. ive forwarded port 4662 on both my router(using the ip from the airport express) and on airport express(usting the ip from my ibook)

@Bolleh: Did you compile this yourself? If not - what binary do you use?

yes, i compiled it myself, version 2.0.0rc7
took me quite a while to get everything right tho but hey, we wont stop at the first drawback now do we? :)

Maybe you could post a link to your binary ...
-
my binary? ehh? you mean the emule.app i assume?
let me stuffit and upload it :)
http://www.xs4all.nl/~ramdjan/amule.app.tgz
note: the download is stuffed 8.5mb, the original file is a little over 40mb since i didnt delete the source before the last stages of compiling
i hope it will work for whoever wants to use it :)

hmm this is weird, i set airport express up so its not a dhcp server anymore, i got a direct ip from my router now, i mapped port 4662 to this ip but when i start amule now it wont work
it stops at "loaded 0 new ip adresses" and keeps showing me the colored circle
also i cant see the servers(the log part is still covering everything)
freaking annoying that when i finally have the port shit rigged that amule starts to back out :(
i want a friggin high id
