I recently installed rc7 over rc6. The rc7 just doesn't seem to work correctly.
One of the main problems is that I get low ID everytime. I'm connected through WLAN box, but rc6 didn't have this problem. I don't know if it's the low ID or what makes that I can't get downloads started.
Another anoying problem is that rc7 messes with my hard drive. More specifically it does something which runs the hard drive constantly and sucks up processor time. First it did something called rehashing. It rehashed all my xxx.part files. I think it got that job done, but still it does something with hard drive - rc6 never did this. I'm running on FC2 and I have my xxx.part files on FAT32 drive.
There is also a problem with Razorback2. Rc7 causes connection attempts to fail with Razorback2. This was a problem with rc6 and it only sometimes got connected to Razorback2, but with rc7 I haven't managed to connect even one time.
Is there something else than aMule-2.0.0-rc7_fc2.i586.rpm that I need to install when switching from rc6 to rc7.
Thank you in advance.

a) It's trashing hdd because it's rehashing your shared files. check the console output (run amule from console)
b) disable ipfilter (your ipfilter must be bugged) for razorback problems.
-
Ok. Running form console and waiting for sometime the hard drive usage goes away and amule gives line:
AICH Thread: Hashing completed.
How can I disable ipfilter and what does the ipfilter do? Does it affect use of other programs and such?

prefs -> security
what is ipfilter (http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1&rm=show_topic&topic_id=142)

I disabled ipfilter. Nothing however changed: Can't connect to Razorback2 and everytime low ID. Any ideas what to try next?

You ports?
-
My Client TCP port is 4662 and Client UDP port is 4672 (and the UDP port isn't disabled).
-
Change those, your isp might be tricking you
-
Didin't help - tried several different ports. Is the low ID and the problem with Razorback caused by same reason?
-
do you have a router/fw ?
-
I said in the first post that I connect through WLAN box. So I guess it's a router and firewall. The weird thing is that I had no problem with rc6 (except it was hard to connect to Razorback2)
