Title: Portuguese Servers - Can't Connect
Post by: Sniffer on November 16, 2004, 10:14:34 PM
Hi fellows, first thanks for this project, amule is really good on is functions.

Tough i have one little problem, yes i have read this but unfortanely don't say the solution

http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=3956&sid=&hilight=SADO

i have read to add the servers manually by IP, but amule just output : server not added...i don't know if i have the correct IP'S from Sado and Tejo...and were to get the correct ones to be added if it's this the problem.

So any ideas or an explanation on this, i have international limits...and unfortanely i can't connect to everyone

Thks
Sniff.

Since it's mainly a portuguese question i'll answer in portuguese:

Viva..
ping tejo.kicks-ass.net

Will answer in Portuguese to :)

Obrigado,

ok, to sum up (for non-portuguese speakers):

servers added by DNS doen't work in aMule (for example, adding sado.kicks-ass.net ). So, you must get the server's IP.

You can easily get the IP by pinging it:

command-line$ ping -c 1 sado.kicks-ass.net
PING sado.kicks-ass.net (81.84.96.18): 56 data bytes

So, the IP is 81.84.96.18 and that's what you have to add.

gracias jacobo221.

Should we expect this corrected in the rc8?
I really don't know if this bug is corrected in the CVS version.
