Title: File save locations
Post by: Elec on November 22, 2004, 04:13:18 PM
Hi,

I would very much like to see an option for different saving places for different files. Like music files go to specified music folder, archives go to another and movies to movie folder.

Would be neat.
or maybe an option when starting downloading a file, to be asked about where to save it.

Sry for my english, hope you understood it :)

that option is already available (refering to completed files)
go to edit categories -> incmoing directory. set it to whatever you feel like

Temp files, anyway, are always stored at he Temp diretory set in preferences

Greetings!

I would call it "bug in usability". This happen when feature is present but not easy discovered.

well, it's as user-friendly as eMule's, since the category editting is a clone from eMule's. I can't think of a better/easier way to have it there :-/

Well, I just stating that mere fact of someone asking such question means that you (as GUI designer) should try harder :)

Nope. cant find it, 2.0.0rc7, unstable debian package.

Maybe theres old config files displacing this option. Will try to clean its config up.

it IS there. you just can't find it ;) maybe lfroen is absolutely right and eMule devs know nothihng about GUI designing hehe at least, it's definitely true that this feature is not easy to find if you aren't used to categories.
To find this:
1) Go to Transfers tab
2) See the "All" tag? rigth-clikc over it
3) Select "Edit Category"
4) You'll see it there, in the new window that will pop up
i guess you now see where it is :)

Greetings!
