Hi all:
At the end, i have amuled working. It works well, but donwload and upload are very very slowly.
If I start amule, it works very quickly. Upload goes to max and download starts...
But using amuled, download doesn't work, and upload are slow (few people, and few bandwith).
Someone knows what can be the problem ?
Regards, errico2.

I'm aware of this - the problem is that amuled have kind of "slow start" - source discovery is match slower that in gui-amule. As a result it take match more time to start download.
Yet I still have no idea of cause of this - both mules are running same code.
I suspect that amuled have wrong idea about "what time is it" :)
-
ok, thanks
-
Well, I'm trying to include a gif from my pc, but i can't.......
Amuled has no "slow start", amuled download and upload more slowly than amule. After five days working, it continues with the same traffic (about 3% of the amule traffic).

hey
you have a highID ?
since I test amuled aswell and ok sources are comming slow and still are less then with amule-GUI but download kinda works ok...

Yes, i have highID. Amule works fine, the problem is when i start amuled.
And I need to run amuled, because it is very difficult for me to start X.....

After some debugging I can tell that I have no idea wtf is causing the problem. amuled does receiving sources from server, it processing udp messages, it perform negotiation with other clients etc.
May be Kry will enable protocol dumps in ListenSocket.cpp and will take a look ?
-
aMule actually does receive sourcs, but drops them because of timeout. lfroen, something is wrong in the sources connection check. We never get to connect them and they get dropped.
-
We never get to connect them and they get dropped.
What do you mean, actually: connection doesn't issued (SYN doesnt sent ?) or connection DOES issued (SYN send, SYN+ACK recieved) but socket code fails to process that correctly ?
Or you mean that tcp connection is actually established, but socket times out during data transfer ?
Can you tell what is special about those amuled can't connect to ?
-
If it is needed any information about an amuled running, please ask me.
Thanks, errico2

My lowid machine is not getting connected to the majority of the servers because of timeout. I am currently on a work travel, so I cant test it, but on some recent time (7-10 days) this bug came back.
Cheers!

Any idea about this problem ?
Thanks in advance, errico2.

errico2,
I did some tests with Citroklar, but I came to no conclusion. I started not connecting, but then suddenly my client started to connect. And at the same time that my lowid client fails to connect to razorback2, I am able to connect as lowid from a firewalled machine. I think I will have to run ethereal to understand the problem better, I am setting it up on my lowid machine.
Cheers!

Maybe the problem is not amule's but with the configuration? Perhaps the firewall will reply something to the server, so it will know inmediately you are lowID, and when you use the lowID client, the server just has to wait until it timeout...that could explain the delay. Connecting to razorback2 with lowID is a matter of luck, sometimes you can, sometimes not. It's really weird, but same happens with emule, so I thiink it's not amule's problem.
Regards.
-
But I can connect Razorback2 with amule and amuled. And if I am not lowID with amule, why i'm going to be with amuled?
Regards, errico2.

you are not...
lfroen and Kry both work on the sources problem atm...
Kry did some tests yesterday and it looked like amuled only makes 90 sources connections, but has not found the reason yet..
because of those low nr of connections amuled is a lot slower then amule-gui

I suppose that rc8 has the same problem, really ?

Hello everyone!
I'm having the same problem as errico2.
Is/will the fix being posted here or where can I find it?
Thanks in advance, Lenni!
-
I've checked and CVS version doesn't have this problem
-
After a few days of waiting for the fix being posted here and not knowing what CVS is or means, I accidentially found the CVS-tarballs.
After compiling and installing it works great here.
Thanks for that and continue the good work!

the FAQ/wiki page is always a good start if you dont know where something is ;)

Sorry, but I am a newbie.
I have gone to cvs page (http://amule.hirnriss.net/). But I have two questions:
1) These patchs are for rc7 or rc8 ?
2) Which patch i have to get to solve the amuled problem ?. Last ?
Lenni, what patch did you install ?
Regards, errico2.
-
hi, just download the latest tarball (i.e http://amule.hirnriss.net/cvs/aMule-cvs-20050112.tar.bz2) untar it and compile. its not a patch, its a whole amule that must be compiled
cheers
-
errico2, I firstly installed the CVS from january, 5th. From then on everything (regarding speed-problems) worked fine here.
I'm currently running CVS from yesterday (january, 11th) wich is working fine too.

Thanks a lot, Lenni and deltaHF.
I thought it was a patch to amule sources.
