Title: Force IP
Post by: antoine on December 12, 2004, 02:57:14 AM
I've been trying aMule for 3 days, and I still have a download issue...

When a download starts, it goes on for about a minute and then stops... which is a bit annoying. :(
which means my download "performance"... is not really performant (UL/DL Ratio = 5:1)

I think the problem comes from the fact we've got a router in my house and in the "My Info" tab, it says my IP/Port is 192.168.0.2:12663. Maybe if there was a way to force the IP to my real IP, and not the generic 192.168.0.x one, my problem would be solved. Makes any sense ?

Bloody router !

I tried to change the ports but it doesn't seem to make a big difference.

I've got the most recent version of aMule CVS (which is brilliant by the way :baby: )

Any help would be much apreciated :)

Since you have private network, you have to setup port forwarding and NAT in you router.  Did you set it up as written in FAQ/README/WiKi whatever ?

Do you have high ID ?

You have non-default port for aMule. Did you reflected this in your router settings ?

Of course your IP is 192.x.x.x - this is how private network works.

If you don't understand what I'm talking about you should either learn "how IP networks works" or ask someone who already knows
