I recently began using aMule because xMule crashes with me, and the devs of xMule seem to be semi-psychotic.
I also had my connection upgraded from 768/128 to 3000/768. So you can imagine my excitement to start sharing as fast as I can. :D I put my upload to 84 KBps, and the slot allocation to 21, expecting four slots. Well, it didn't work. Everytime I put slot allocation to something higher than 10 or so, it uploads at 36-46 KBps, far below my set upload speed. I have to put the slot allocation to around 5-7 KBps for me to upload at my real speed, which I usually keep around 84 KBps as an upload. And even then, it doesn't work. Some people will get 0.5 KBps, some 27, some 63, some 4... I don't want to upload to people at 0.3 KBps when I have a 84 KBps upload.
I tried a speedtest, I got 2700/705, so I know it isn't a bandwidth problem.
Is this a bug, or something I can get help with? I'd really prefer to upload to a few people quickly than many people slowly. The fact that I can't turn off slot allocation is my only gripe with aMule so far, in every other respect it works nicer than xMule. :)
Thanks in advance. :)

hi,
try to set your up limit to 80 kb/s and slot alloc to 10.
and remember - if the remote client(s) can't dl from you with 10 kb/s (because his line is full or smth), amule will share the slot with other client(s)
cheers

I did that, and it's still going at about 37-45 KBps up. And if I lower it to 5 KBps, it's uploading to people around 18 KBps, to some at 30, and to some at 0.3. :(
