Title: don't understand anything
Post by: wR3n on December 20, 2004, 10:45:35 AM
got my first mac yesterday and i don't understand anything.

i'm interesting in the latest aMule version.

but it requires some skills i don't have, like compiling. i read the howto guide but i'm still hopelessly lost.

could give me anyone a guide for dummies, like a step to step explanation:

what to download
what to do then

seriously i don't have an idea what to do.

HELP

The best you can do is download prebuilt binary for your distribution. You must have quite common distribution - like Fedora, Debian etc if you can't compile from source for whatever reason.

I do agree that user-frendiness of entire application(s) can and must be better. And hopefully will.

P.S.
The documantation on "how to compile" doesn't mean to explain "what is compilation, what is compiler, what is programming language and so on". It explains how to compile particular program.

hey

there is a zip file ready to run out of the box... just download

http://download.berlios.de/amule/aMule.zip

unzip it and run it like any other Mac programm....

2nd if you want to do it by hand...go to

http://wiki.amule.org and look into the MacOS section. there is a pretty good step by step guide.

also for beginners question for amule there are lot of hints and guides. just have a look there.
