Title: entire system hangs when running aMule
Post by: vinthund on January 15, 2005, 02:44:37 AM
hello!

My system is Fedora 3, I installed amule from freshrpms.net using yum, previously it was rpm from your page.

I have been running aMule for some tome now and for those couple of months I had been a pleasure. Suddenly about 3 weeks ago there came a change: my system would "hang" when running amule (not right from the start but after some time). Hangs - that means it does not respond to mouse or keyboard.
I presume it is connectes with running amule because if I don't use it my system can run a couple of days without hanging.

I can not recall any important changes tat I would make 3 weeks ago and which could influence the stability (I startet using freshrpms.net repo earlier than this). The only thing I installes was RealPlayer, but could that matter? :>

regards,

mv

hi,,

try this:

uninstall all your wxgtk, wxbase and amule rpms

download and install:

http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=25 (wxgtk)
http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=26 (wxgtk-devel)
http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=28 (wxbase)
http://hirnriss.net/files/aMule/aMule-2.0.0-rc8_fc3.i586.rpm

cheers

This is more likely to be a problem with your X11 server (XFree or XOrg). You might want to check your distro's forums or the like and see if anyone has similar freezes.
