Title: sharing files
Post by: HaroldMac on March 10, 2005, 01:13:17 PM
Hi all. I'm a real newbe with amule. I'm using a G4 500 with 10,3,8 When i try to share files (it took me  some time to understand how since i was trying to drag them) it says
0.03.2005 13:20:30: Found 2 known shared files, 173 unknown
 - so it doesn't recognize the others (divx, .dmg, .sit, .mpeg, etc.)- If someone could gimme some suggests about it plz
I'm looking forward using amule

This is fine.  A "known" file is simply one which aMule has seen before and has hashed.  "Unknown" simply means it hasn't been hashed yet.  aMule will proceed to hash those 173 files (this will take a while and will use high amounts of CPU), after which it will share them.

Yeah, aMule doesn't conform to Mac user-interface niceties as well as it might.  :)  This is in part because aMule is targeted at many platforms and takes something of a least-common-denominator approach, and partly because the developers have been focusing on functionality before interface.

Thanks for your help, I finally understood the thing, (dummy guy) and step by step learning to use it.
It's actually easy, but as you said, with Mac OS X,  we get used to great surprises. Hope to learn as soon as I can also the tricks. In the meanwhile, thanks again.
aMule seems to be great.
