Title: I don't even start to compile aMule
Post by: omerlh on March 14, 2005, 05:12:34 PM: I start to work by the guide for SuSE 9.2, But I was need to install wxgtk, that was needed gtk, that was needed glib, atk and pango. everything going well accepect the pango (Version 1.8.0). What I was read that you need the configure, so there it is:

there is a difference between GTK and WXGTK!!!!
maybe read teh post again ;)

Read the guide again, and pay attention to what stefanero said. wxGTK is different from gtk+.

What we tell you to do is to compile wxGTK yourself. All other packages may be used from your distribution binaries. If I recall correctly, if you use SUSE, there is no need to compile even wxGTK. You can get the binary packages for SUSE here:

Don't forget: read the guide again and pay attention to the details.

dont compile as root....not even configure...

to get the devel package
open yast and search for gtk+-devel, and while your doing it also install curl-devel and gettext
so we dont run into problems later

you have suse right? so you have yast2 for installing packages and such,
-- go into your yast controll center
-- add/remove software
-- search for curl, gtk-devel or gtk+-devel( dont remeber what it was called) and gettext
-- install all those

when you do have admin rights! on your pc, download
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=42
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=25
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=26

all these packages and install them as root with

rpm -Uvh ......

then log out from root again, and type as normal user in the console
amule

and there you are ;)

The problem is that i have newst WXGTK and the program (wxgtk-devel) need latest one. That why the guide explain how to install all in your home directory. And that whay I need a source.
