aMule seems to be very active : more than one release per week.
It would be great to be able to get the development version on CVS. As the releases have often few differences with previous one, this would also lower the time of compilation as only the changed files will be recompiled.
And I think CVS access is great to get more developers. (But not sure it will)
I heard sourceforge CVS is really bad. So, that's maybe not a good idea to put it here. It should be a fairly complex task to get a CVS server somewhere for a somewhat low interest.

hi,
we have CVS for aMule, but only for DEV's (to test the files) ..
our motto: only a stable and tested release goes out to the end user ;)
