Title: amulegui compiles
Post by: DXFan on March 19, 2005, 02:41:52 PM
amulegui does compile!  You guys are the best :baby:

But it doesn't connect yet:

amulegui says:
Code: [Select]
LOG: Connection Failed. Unable to connect to the specified hostand amuled:
Code: [Select]
Unauthorized access attempt. Connection closed.

Can you please describe your setup: where is amule(d) is running and where amulegui ? Is it separate machines, connected over lan, or both are running on same one ?

Thank you for report :)

And what tools did you use to compile?

Thx for the replys  :)

I used amuled (CVS-20050319) on Gentoo and amule gui (also CVS-20050319) on win2k. Two separated machines over LAN.

For compiling I used  mingw gcc/g++ 3.3.3 and msys+configure.
edit: and wxMSW-2.5.3.

Why dont u put just a compiled version of emule gui for windows on the download section? Maybe the DXFan version can be a choice. I wanna try this, but i am too dumb to compile it! (i tried.. really hard! hehehe)

Well, if you read the first post carefully you will see that amulegui did compile on windows but it doesn't work (as in "connect to amuled and let you do anything with it). Another point is that amulegui is still somewhere between late alpha and early beta stage (on linux), being incomplete and under heavy development. Right now it's only for those curious enough to compile it, try it and report the errors with it so they can be fixed while the rest of the basic functionality is being implemented.

There will be windows binaries for amulegui and amule when they are supposed to work...

thats a good point... i am just too curious to wait (tired of refreshing amule home page to see if 2.0 is released), so i will try to compile and see whats happening... :)
tks a lot

I sucessfully compiled full amule under Win32(MSYS+MinGW).

I executed amulegui and it shows this window. I enter the information to connect and ... voila! The server says that new external connection is accepted but in client(amulegui) return to the connection window (and when close the window; the clients says: "LOG: Connection Failed. Unable to connect to the specified host)". :(

Client(Win 32 with amule 2.0.2 and amule cvs). Server (Win32 and Linux Slackware).
