Don't know exactly what I did. I do know that aMule was installed on my Mac last night. This morning I was trying to figure out why it was not downloading anything.. always waiting.. Thing is, now the program, despite deleting and re-installing, won't open. It bounces around in the dock for about two seconds and then poof. Nothing. I can't even delete and reinstall.. I got an error message that my system configuration needed to changed in preferences and then another message that said sorry. Is there any hope of help that could fix this and then get the program running properly?
help ah!

hi,
have you also deleted the hidden ".aMule" folder in your home directory? it contains all settings and so on. (and all partially completed downloads, if any, and the incoming folder if you havn't changed it. so save files first!)
... m2kio !

nope the .amule file is still there... i think i might have checked the button regarding different skins.. but of course, couldn't find any skins to use.. and then forgotten to uncheck the button when i closed the window.. would that make it do this?

I tested it and yes, that's the resons. Delete the file amule.conf inside your .aMule folder.

And fixed on CVS. If lionel builds a new binnary...

Just for future reference, when aMule is launched from the Finder, any diagnostic messages it prints go to the console.log. This can be viewed using the Console program (in the Utilities subfolder of Applications). The messages printed there may help us diagnose future problems. Of course, launching from the command line (the Terminal program) is a good way to get those diagnostic messages directly.
