Title: No .amule.conf available
Post by: Otho on March 26, 2005, 04:57:29 PM
Hi all,

Just installed aMule-2.0.0rc8 for the first time and after a bit of tweaking it works like a dream. Till I need to restart or shutdown aMule.

It appears that no options are saved, so I have to do everything again. After checking where aMule saves his information, I looked after .amule.conf. This file doens't excist on my pc.

Is there any solution to this problem other then reapply my settings everytime?

Otho,

1) Read the documentation here:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

In particular, you are interested in this:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ_aMule

And I will spare you some reading, aMule saves his configuration in file ~/.eMule until version rc8. Current CVS stores it in file ~/.aMule/amule.conf, and that leads us to...

2) Don't use rc8. It is too old and too buggy code. Current CVS is the way. Get a tarball and compile it yourself:
http://www.hirnriss.net/?area=cvs

Read the wiki for instructions.

Cheers!
