I was wrong...So, here's a new one: why is my downloading so slow? I'm on a DSL connection and I usually download at 40/50 Kb's from Limewire, but I can dl at most 14 Kb's from aMule. My " arrows " at the right bottom are yellow and I'm told I'm " firewalled " but I'm not! Any tip?
Thanks in advance and excuse me again.

if its yellow you are firewalled ;)
you have a router or something??
-
Yes, I actually have a router...Is there something I can do?
-
there is always something you can do ;)
thing with router is they need tobe setup aswell. check in your amule-preferences under connections what ports are set for tcp and upd (standart is 4662 - tcp and 4672 - udp)
now open the admin console on your router and look for something like
--nat
--virtuell server
--port forwarding
there are many words for the same thing so I dont know how its called in your router. maybe you should check the router manual on howto forward ports from the router to maschines inside the lan.
only thing you need todo is the forward the ports in your amule prefs to the IP-Address of your mac-box.
its not really hard, there are often examples in the router-manuals.
They usually explain it with http-servers(apache), just take this example and change from port 80 to 4662/tcp and 4672/upd.
hope that helps

You can try looking up the brand and model of your router at this site (http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm) to find instructions. The instructions are a little Windows-centric, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out the Mac equivalents.

Thank you both guys:-)
I have a Aethra Starbridge E-U router. I found its page but as I tried to change my router configuration, I lost my connection to the Internet, consequently I had to restore the previous set-up's. But - suprise, surprise! - last night I found out one of my downloads was about 60 Kb's fast, which is a good dl speed, I guess...

Well, regarding the nature of any P2P network (whatever you want to download must be uploaded by somebody else) every kb you get more than you give is "more than good" ;)
